Who will take over??

Pursuant to NYS Constitution Article 4 section 5, in the case of the removal of the governor from office or his or her death or resignation, the lieutenant governor (LG) shall become governor for the remainder of the term.

Furthermore, pursuant to NYS Constitution Article 4 section 6, in case of vacancy in the office of LG alone or if the LG shall be impeached, absent from the state or otherwise unable to discharge the duties of office, the temporary president of the senate shall perform all the duties of the LG during vacancy or inability.
